From October 22-25, I’ll be in Cheektowaga (Buffalo), NY for the State of the Art (SOTA) Astrology Conference. I’ll be speaking too. On the Saturday morning (the 24th), I’ll give a two-hour presentation titled “Wish Upon Your Fixed Stars”.
The fixed stars are the natural luminous celestial bodies that appear not to move in respect to each other and against which the planets do appear to move. The fixed stars are grouped into constellations, which have been the carriers of myth and legend probably nearly as long as humankind has been on the earth. Fixed stars have individual meanings, and express themselves through planets (which includes the Earth).
In the astrological tradition, the fixed stars have a very fated reputation: “good” stars are very good (for the most part) and the “bad” ones are really bad. This talk takes a more neutral and psychological approach wherein the fixed stars will be viewed in their aspirational sense and complete with a bright and dark side. I will present iconic horoscopes as examples.
SOTA is always fun. I’m really looking forward to this conference! I’m going to be there with some of my greatest astrological friends including Julie Simmons, Priscilla Costello, Wendy Guy, Franco Minatel, and Carmen Di Luccio. It’s going to be a blast.
