Aquarius

AquariusDear Aquarius,

If you haven’t read it yet, you might want to check out my article on Sun Signs in general before you read the article below.

Typically, Aquarius wants to live and let live and also be deeply committed to some kind of group. The trouble with community is that you really know you’re experiencing it when there’s somebody in it that you can’t stand. This eccentric dynamic is where you find yourself Aquarius: learning how to be true to what you know about yourself and yet still participating in important relationships with the collectives you relate to.

It’s enough to make anyone crazy. Keep trying and avoid disassociating from what’s inside and from what’s outside. Like all Air Signs it is a dynamic dualism that keeps you thinking. Sometimes people think you are a water sign, but the water that Aquarians pour into the world is not the salt water of the ocean but rather the sweet waters of reason.

You are principled with many social ideals and concepts. You relate to life through the ideals shared with your community or group and principles you know are correct. Because Aquarius is a fixed sign, you are goal-oriented and persistent.  Being in community means participating in the group experience but be holding onto the truth of your personal principles and logic. Associations of people and abstract concepts, friendly relations, and innovation energizes you. You value your friends, but you need time for yourself as well.

Aquarius has the reputation of being the most eccentric sign of the zodiac, but I don’t believe it. Rather you Aquarius has to develop your own unique ways of being to retain your identity. It’s just that Aquarians take a distinctive, forward looking perspective. At first it seems eccentric, but those who get it learn that it’s “just your way.”

Aquarian archetypes include:

  • The Team Player
  • The Genius
  • The Politician
  • The Reformer

Proper care and feeding of your Sun sign means:

  • Letting yourself be quirky and take time for yourself
  • Seeking opportunities to participate in group life
  • Using wisdom when sharing your knowledge and the ideals they stem from
  • Continually exposing yourself to the new, novel and inventive things in your environment.

Love,

Michael
